About Me:
My name is Knox Hammack, I am 23 years old and I've been kayaking since I was 10. I learned to paddle through Riversport School of Paddling in Confluence PA. I have been lucky enough to travel the world kayaking and meet the amazing community that accompanies this amazing sport. My path kayaking has led me to test my skills on increasingly large waterfalls. In 2019, I accomplished a goal I had since I was 10 of successfully running Palouse Falls in Eastern Washington.IN additon to waterfalls, I've spent six summers teaching kids how to kayak and it is without a doubt one of my favorite aspects of the sport. Showing new people how amazing kayaking is reminds me of when I was younger and first started learning.

Why I Love Kayaking:
I love kayaking because of the places it allows me to travel, and because of the people I have met. When I started I was awed by the notion that kayakers can go places no one else in the world can. In addition, the most trustworthy and supportive people in my life are the ones I have met through kayaking and there is no doubt in my mind it stems from a love of the sport.
Kayaking Accomplishments:
I’ve been fortunate enough to have safe descents down some waterfalls I dreamed of doing when I was a kid, specifically: Palouse Falls, Washington, Big Banana Falls, Mexico, Ram Falls 2x, Alberta, Wabena Falls, California, Sahalie Falls, Oregon, Racehorse Falls, Washington, Eagle Falls, Washington, Abiqua Falls, Oregon & Tomata Falls 1 and 2, Mexico
Most Memorable Moment in Your Kayak:
Rolling up at the bottom of Palouse Falls is a moment that will be a part of me for the rest of my life. The amount of time, planning, training, and stress that went into making it happen all exploded in my heart once I realized that I was okay. I will never forget the support I received from the people who went along that day and set safety. It was a moment I never knew I was capable of capturing and kayaking allowed me to find it.
