About Me:
My name is Johnny Chase I have been paddling for 11 years. I learned to kayak in my home town of Kernville on the Kern River. I love sharing kayaking with people though many different avenue, such as; photography, short videos, teaching kayaking, and hosting the Brush Creek Races. My focus on paddling has been running the hardest whitewater in all forms (creeking, river running, waterfalls and big water), my favorite being big water, paddling internationally, and racing.

Favorite Places to Paddle:
California is by far my favorite place to paddle. From high Sierra granite all the way to big water it has everything at the highest quality. My two favorite runs are Middle Kings and the Cataracts of the Kern.
Why I Love Kayaking:
Kayaking takes me to the most beautiful places in the world. It’s given me the best friends I could have ever asked for. When I was young I couldn’t have dreamed of the places I have been or the things I have seen. It opened up my eyes to what the world has to offer and what I can accomplish in my own life.
Kayaking Accomplishments:
Royal Flush on the North Fork American, 4-portage run on the Indus River, high water on the Cataracts of Kern, high water runs throughout California, numerous international expeditions, 2x - second place Feather Fest extreme race, 3rd place Gnarlfest, NFC elite race 2017 & 2018, 2nd place Fire and Ice race & host of Brush Creek Races.
Most Memorable Moment in Your Kayak:
The most memorable moment in my kayak was finishing the Royal flush. I had dreamed of it ever since I had started kayaking. Sitting at the bottom of Wabena, with my best friend, after years and years of imagining that exact moment was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
