About Me:
My name is Ava Christensen and I have been paddling since I was 9 years old. I learned to paddle at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina and on the Ottawa river in Ontario, Canada. I enjoy all different types of kayaking; slicing, creeking, big water, and overnighters. I attended World Class Kayak Academy for two years which gave me lots of opportunities to paddle around the world. It really sparked my love for getting on new rivers and traveling for kayaking. Since then I have been making a couple rallies out west, a trip to Ecuador, and checking out more runs in the Southeast.

Favorite Places to Paddle:
Cherry proper in Groveland, California might take the win. But, I also have a few favorites in Western North Carolina, the PNW, Chile, and Ecuador.
Why I Love Kayaking:
There are so many reasons why I love kayaking. I really enjoy all the places it can take you and all the different tricks/lines there are to learn. The community around all of these rivers is truly hard to beat. Plus, It gives me an appreciation for rainy days.

Most Memorable Moment in Your Kayak:
One of my recent memorable moments in my kayak was over the summer in California. I was on a road trip with my mom when I got a call that South Silver was in. She hadn’t seen me paddle in a long time so it was really special to see her stoked at the bottom of skyscraper!

Ambassador for a year and joined the team in late 2021!
